DevOps has fast become one of the latest IT buzzwords and big ticket items for many businesses. So much so that an entire - and very lucrative - sector has sprung up dedicated to DevOps tooling, recruitment, ways of working and consultancy. Paul will attempt to demystify the myth that DevOps has become and provide some background and insight into the fundamentals of the DevOps movement, why it is valuable and how it can make the lives of those working with it so much better.

Paul has spent over 20 years working in IT - which either means he's very experienced or just very old. Starting out as a developer Paul has filled numerous software engineering and management roles over the years across a number of different sectors and organizations of various sizes from start-ups to multi-national corporates. Paul is passionate about software and how it is delivered - since first encountering “agile” over a decade ago he has been committed to the adoption and implementation of agile techniques and approaches to improve efficiency, output and ultimately the lives of software engineering teams. He lives by the coast with his wife, daughters and two small yappy things.
