Thomas Guest: Go. Steady! Ready?

As a C++ and Python programmer, I've been following the progress of the Go programming language with interest. C++ and Python can be seen as alternative reinventions of C but both omit key features from their predecessor. C++ is complicated. Python is slow.
Go is a modern reinvention of C. Promising Python's simplicity and safety, it adds static typing, solid performance and language-level support for concurrent programming.
In this talk I will discuss my experience of programming with Go, and will answer the question: does Go deliver?
